🛒 What You’ll Need
3 mason jars (or similar containers with lids)
– Two 16 oz. jars (one for infused gin, one for sweet & sour)
– One 24 oz. or larger jar (for shaking the cocktail)A liquid strainer
Ice and fresh mint leaves for garnish
Step 1: Infuse the Gin (Do this 2 days ahead!)
In a 16 oz. jar, combine:
10 oz. New Amsterdam Gin (or another smooth, non-juniper-forward gin)
1 ripe mango, peeled and sliced (or substitute with any seasonal fruit)
Close the lid, give it a good shake, and leave it on the counter for 48 hours to infuse.
Pro tip: You can keep topping off the gin as it runs low, and yes, the boozy mango slices are fair game.
Step 2: Make the Sweet & Sour Mix
In a saucepan:
Combine 1 cup sugar + 1 cup water over medium heat, stirring until dissolved.
Let it cool.
Stir in:
– ¾ cup lemon juice (bottled is fine)
– ¾ cup lime juice (bottled is fine, too)
Pour into a jar, seal, and refrigerate.
Step 3: Shake & Serve
In your large jar, add:
10 oz. mango-infused gin (strain out the fruit)
10 oz. sweet & sour mix
1.5 oz. egg whites *(from a carton, easy!)
Seal the jar and shake vigorously to foam the egg whites.
Pour into four glasses, top with ice, and garnish with a slapped mint leaf
(Yes, actually slap it between your palms - it releases the oils and aroma!)
Optional: Drop in a few boozy mango chunks for bonus flair.
